Join the Team
Thank your for your interest in Preferred EyeCare Center. We'd like to tell you more about our practice, our motivation and how we implement it to benefit you.
We are committed to creating an unforgettable experience for everyone by providing the best care possible. We are the Preferred Team that is dedicated to listening, educating, diagnosing and treating your ocular needs and desires. Our biggest goal is to enhance your lifestyle through your vision.
You can see we listen because when we listen, you see. In knowing this, we want to partner with you to finish
the Preferred Team. We welcome questions before, during and after the exam. Your input is valuable to us, and
our Preferred Team is not complete
without it.
The Preferred Way begins with our automated pretest room. Automation gives us the most accurate answers and provides the most comfortable experience. One of the tests is the automated peripheral vision screening test. Not only does it examine your side vision, it is a very sensitive neurological and glaucoma prescreening.
The Preferred Way then moves into the exam room where your experience is divided into two hemispheres: your vision assessment and 13-point evaluation. The exam room is 100% glare free, including an LCD visual screen. This is a perfect time to ask me any questions about your vision.
Once we determine your prescription, we'll move into your 13-point health evaluation. Instead of the traditional air-puff test to check eye pressures, we use a more comfortable and accurate test. This is your second glaucoma test of the day. The third glaucoma test is done after your eyes dilate. We perform three different tests for glaucoma because it is a painless, silent sight stealer. When detected early, the effects of glaucoma can be delayed.
You have a choice of dilating drops. If you need to get back to work on a computer or reading, you may choose a drop that takes a few more minutes to dilate your eyes but will not blur your vision. Your eyes will be dilated during your first visit and then every other year to ensure complete ocular health, inside and out. While you're dilated, your retinal photos will be taken for your records at home as well as our electronic office files. If you have any questions about your eyes, feel free to ask at any time. This is your preferred exam.
If you wear contact lenses already, please remove them before the exam and bring them with you. Also bring any glasses that you currently wear, so we can read your previous prescription.
Please be prepared to pay in full on your exam day. If you have medical and/or vision insurance, we will research your benefits before your exam so you know what to expect. We gather medical insurance information in case a medical condition presents itself during your exam. Additionally, we give patients who own their own business or are self-employed the opportunity to participate in Park West Preferred. This free program acts like insurance benefits and offers patients a 20% savings on professional services and products. It may be extended to your employees and any dependents.
If you have any questions about insurance, scheduling, health or our practice, please call. If you have an idea on an appointment time that fits your schedule, please call or visit the resources tab and fill out the appointment form. We will contact you by the next business day.
We look forward to meeting you. Thank you again for your interest in Preferred EyeCare Center.
Sincerely yours,
Rachael C. Click, OD
